Locus Science was formed nearly 10 years ago out of a need for more robust UTI + ABR diagnostics. As one of the most common infections in the US, it is also one with the highest rates of antibiotic resistance associated to infection as a result of inappropriate antibiotic prescriptions. We focus on molecular diagnostics for end-to-end solutions with high-throughput automated workflows. We found that molecular methods are far superior than traditional culture-based methods and that it’s time to change the diagnostic paradigm for rapid results. As we cultivate our portfolio, we are almost exclusively focused on a variety of UTIs and the diagnostic model overall. We believe that we will solve the antibiotic resistance global public health threat with novel diagnostic paradigms for UTI. Choosing to specialize in a field means that we are completely devoted to it; that we will protect it as if it were your own. That is the energy that sets us apart in the UTI + ABR space.
Locus Science opened its doors in 2014 for R&D work. Since then, we’ve facilitated the success of our molecular products and solutions around the globe. In 2016, we brought on our standardized multiplexing system that accommodates all modern real-time PCR instruments in the market today with robust scoring algorithms.
